Workshop Description

Weds, April 10 9:30 am - 3:30pm (MoCo School Day Off) Ages: 10-15 Instructor: Karen Giacopuzzi Cost: $80 In EngineHeads you'll learn about the inner life of the Internal Combustion Engine. Among other topics, we'll cover 2 vs 4 stroke engines, we'll test out a muffler and you'll build a small 3D printed piston and cylinder model. After lunch we'll take apart a chainsaw engine or what ever else you can find in the take apart box. We also have a lot of other appliances with electric motors we can take apart and compare it to. I'll provide goggles and gloves which are required for this portion of the workshop. I don't run this workshop very often because I need to have an engine to take apart. This is a rare opportunity for kids who are curious about how things work and don't mind being outside, doing fun, messy work. At the end of the day we'll run my super awesome Jensen model steam engines and have ice pops. Family members are of course invited. Screen Time Rating: 3-5% (Just gifs about engine parts) Tech Resume Skills: How to use various drivers Knowledge about internal and external combustion engines
