Workshop Description
Ages 12 and Up Instruction: $265 Materials: $0 Total: $265 Note: We'll be building synthesizers. If the students want to take them home it will be an additional $15. This is a half day camp. The 555 Timer is the world's most popular integrated circuit. It controls wide range of applications ranging from wind shield wiper delays to musical synthesizers. In this workshop we'll create circuits that demonstrate the timer functions and will vary the output by changing some of the input components. We'll run it in monostable and astable mode, then combine the two to create a synthesizer in a cigar box. This is our first time running workshop as a summer camp. If we have extra time, we'll add on something else that's fun and interesting. This camp is for kids with a deep interest in electronics. It would be best for but not limited to someone who has taken other circuit building workshops. Screentime Rating: 0% Tech Resume Skills: Understanding resistors, capscitors, breadboard circuits, potentiometers and Integrated Circuits.
